Mrs. Johnson's Class 1-5

Welcome to the
2018-2019 School Year

My name is Mrs. LaVonda Glover Johnson and I have the pleasure of teaching your child for the 2018-2019 school year. I am truly thrilled about establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment for your child. I am delighted to be working with your little one to lead him / her into becoming a competent first grader ready to advance to the next level.

Goals for Your Child
My goal this year is to guide and support your child into discovering new things through hands-on learning experiences. These experiences will reveal things about his / her talents and gifts that he / she brings to the classroom. We will use technology and the arts to showcase their understanding of many skills this year.

My Education and Experience
I graduated with a Bachelors’ of Science in Early Childhood Education from Francis Marion University (Florence, SC) in 2010. I later received my Master’s Degree in Integrated Arts in Education from Lesley University (Cambridge, MS) in 2014. I have been teaching at Drayton Hall Elementary School for 7 years! I have also worked as a teacher’s assistant for a migrant Headstart program for 4 consecutive summers during my undergraduate experience!

Final Thoughts
As an advocate for early childhood education, I accept the calling of guiding and supporting your child to a promising future. As the parents/guardians, I encourage you to assist your child in his/her experience and encourage him /her to come to school each day eager to learn with a positive attitude.
